Paopu Fruit Pattern

I really wanted to make a small Paopu fruit, but couldn't find a pattern for one. I know that you can just make one using a star and leaf pattern, but why not just make an official pattern to share with everyone anyway? Here's my rendition of a Paopu fruit. The one I made is pretty small with the star being about 3 1/2 inches tall. As always, you can change the size by changing the sizes of both hook and yarn weight.

Materials:
G Hook (any size you prefer really)
Worsted Weight yarn in yellow and green
Fiberfill
Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
ch= chain
sc= single crochet
hdc= half double crochet
dc= double crochet
sl st= slip stitch
inc= increase (2 single crochets in 1 stitch)
dec= UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED decrease ( single crochet 2 stitches together)
[...] = repeat anything in between
F/O= finish off

Number of stitches is indicated in parentheses at the end of each round.

STAR: Make 2 in yellow
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring or however you like to start. (5)
Rnd 2: [inc] (10)
Rnd 3: [sc, inc] (15)
Rnd 4: [ 2 sc, inc] (20)
Rnd 5: [3 sc, inc] (25)
Rnd 6: [4 sc, inc] (30)

1st Point: With yellow
Row 1: 6 sc in next 6 stitches, turn (6) I recommend placing a stitch marker in the next unworked stitch to keep you place.
Row 2: 2 sc, dec, 2 sc. turn (5)
Row 3: 2 sc, skip a stitch, 2 sc, turn (4)
Row 4: sc, dec, sc, turn (3)
Row 5: Decrease over all 3 stitches (Instead of pulling up 2 loops like a regular decrease, pull up 3 loops.) (1)
F/O, weave in ends.

2nd-5th point: With yellow
-Join yarn to the next unworked sc with a slip stitch.
Row 1: sc in same stitch as joining, 5 sc across, turn (6)
Row 2-5: Repeat rows 2-5 of the 1st point. DO NOT finish off after the 5th point.

Star completion:
Step 1: Evenly work 5 sc down the left side of the 5th point. You will be working in this direction to the finish.
Step 2: Evenly work 5 sc up the side of the next point.
Step 3: Work 3 sc into the tip of the point (Meaning the stitch made in Row 5 of the points.)
Repeat steps 1-3 until the beginning of the star, slip stitch and F/O

LEAF: With green
Ch 10 (I recommend making the initial tail long so you can use it to sew on to the fruit later.)
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc, 4 dc, hdc, sc, sl st (9)
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sl st, sc, hdc, 4dc, hdc, sc (9)
F/O. Weave in tail

Attachment:
-Line the stars up evenly with the right side facing outward. Sew them together in the same color yarn by whip stitching through both stars' front and back loops. Begin to add stuffing into the corners as you finish sewing around them, and finish stuffing before closing.

- Sew leaf to the top of one point.

That's it! Feel free to ask questions if you need help!

Clara the Spotted Jellyfish Amigurumi Pattern

I finally have a new pattern to share with you guys! This is Clara from Princess Jellyfish. I saw a plush of her at a convention a few weekends ago and really wanted to try making her. This is the result. She kind of looks more like an octopus than a jellyfish >.>

She's about 7-8 inches tall. I really don't want to go down a hook size, but it seems like I might have to soon. Need to make myself crochet tighter!

Anyways, here's the pattern. Hope you enjoy!

Materials needed:
Hook size of your preference. I used a G hook
Yarn in a dark and light pink
White, Black, and Red felt
Black embroidery floss
Materials for attaching felt (either embroidery floss or some form of glue)
Tapestry Needle

Rnd 25: *2 sc, dec* (24)
Rnd 26: *sc, dec* (16)
Rnd 27: *dec* (8)
F/O. You may need to use the tail to thread through the last round and close the hole.

Ruffle: with darker pink
For this step you will be working into the head. Make sure the top of the head is facing towards you.
-Attach yarn with any of the front loops of round 24 with a slip stitch.
Rnd 1:
-This round will all be worked in the front loops of round 24.
-sc in same stitch as joining, sc around (40)
Rnd 2: FLO sl st in first sc of round 1, ch 3, FLO 2 dc in same stitch, FLO 3 dc in each of the remaining stitches (120)

Rnd 19: *sc, dec* (10)
Rnd 20-22: *sc* (10)
F/O leaving long tail to sew. Stuff

Spots:
I used a combination of these spots. Use however many you want. On mine there are 2-3 spots on each tentacle and 6 spots on the head.

Spot 1: 5 mg in magic ring, sl st in 1st sc, F/O leaving tail.
Spot 2: 6 mg in magic ring, sl st in 1st sc, F/O leaving tail.

For Head spots I also added:
Spot 3: 5 mg in magic ring (5)
*inc* (10)

Face Details:
-For the eyes I made ovals about 3 rows tall with the black felt.
-The white pupils are about a row tall.
- The mouth is 4 rows tall. I basically cut out a narrow red triangle and curved out the tip.
-Attach the eyes and mouth onto the face however you would like. Embroider on the eyelashes with black embroidery floss.

Attachment:
-Use tails to sew spots onto the bottom of each tentacle and on top of the head. (Optional: Stick residential copper electrical wiring into the body and a tentacle, and sew the leg on. This allows you to pose the amigurumi. Here is a good tutorial for this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBBfZZj5cp8&feature=player_embedded#!)
-Use tails to sew tentacles to the bottom of the body. I did 3 tentacles in the front, 3 tentacles in the back, and 1 tentacle on each side.
